    Overview

The London School of Intelligent Computing and Technology is a specialist institution for advanced computing and technology. Student support is organised around the needs of postgraduate and doctoral learners, including those who combine study with work and family responsibilities.

Support at LSICT focuses on helping you to:

    • Understand the expectations of advanced study in intelligent computing and related fields.
    • Access clear academic guidance for your modules, projects and research.
    • Find appropriate help when personal or work circumstances affect your learning.
    • Plan your progression, career development and next steps after your programme.

Different programmes and partnerships may provide additional support routes; these will be explained in your programme materials and handbooks.

    Academic skills and learning support

Academic support helps you to meet the demands of postgraduate and doctoral work in intelligent computing and technology.

    • Programme and module leaders who can answer questions about learning and assessment.
    • Structured guidance on research projects, dissertations and theses where applicable.
    • Sessions and resources on research design, academic writing and use of evidence.
    • Advice on planning your workload and preparing for key assessment points.
    • Orientation to the main tools, platforms and resources used on your programme.

Where programmes are delivered with partner universities, you may also be able to access their libraries, skills centres and academic development services, as set out in your programme information.

    Student wellbeing and personal support

LSICT encourages a balanced and sustainable approach to study. If changes in your personal, family or work situation are making it harder to keep up with your studies, please contact your programme team so that we can discuss what is happening and outline possible options.

    • Pastoral support through programme leaders or other designated contacts.
    • Guidance on who to contact if you are experiencing difficulties that affect your studies.
    • Information about external or partner wellbeing services where available.
    • Advice on managing study alongside employment and other responsibilities.
    • Commitment to a respectful and professional learning environment for all students.

LSICT will work with you to understand how your circumstances affect your learning and, where possible, to agree practical steps and sources of further help.

Careers, digital help and next steps

Programmes at LSICT are designed to strengthen your professional profile in AI, data, cybersecurity and other digital fields. Support focuses on applying your learning to current and future roles, and on making effective use of the digital platforms you study with.

    • Careers guidance on roles and pathways linked to advanced computing and technology.
    • Support with CVs, profiles and presenting your skills and project outcomes.
    • Opportunities to meet employers, partners and guest speakers where available.
    • Help with accessing and using the virtual learning environment and core study tools.
    • Clear contact routes if a technical issue is affecting your participation or assessment.

Contact routes, response times and any additional services will be set out in your programme handbook and on the main LSICT website. If you are unsure where to start, you can use the general enquiries contact on the LSICT Contact page and your query will be directed to the appropriate team.
