Postgraduate and Master’s programmes

LSICT is developing a focused portfolio of Master’s programmes that connect intelligent computing, data, finance and management. The programmes below are high-priority developments and will be subject to formal validation and approval.

MSc Generative AI and Decision Intelligence

This MSc focuses on how generative AI can be combined with decision science to improve strategic, operational and real-time decision-making in organisations. Students explore how models such as large language models, generative models and reinforcement learning can support complex decisions while remaining explainable, robust and aligned with organisational goals.

Indicative themes

  • Foundations of generative AI and modern deep learning.
  • Decision intelligence, optimisation and simulation for complex systems.
  • Human–AI collaboration for analysis, planning and scenario modelling.
  • Responsible and transparent use of generative models in decision pipelines.
  • Applied projects with real or realistic organisational datasets.

The programme is designed for graduates and professionals who want to design, evaluate and deploy intelligent decision-support solutions in finance, operations, public services and other data-rich environments.

MSc Generative Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation

This MSc is designed to prepare students to lead and innovate in a world where generative AI technologies – such as large language models (LLMs), image synthesis and autonomous agents – are reshaping organisations. The programme combines technical knowledge with digital transformation, change and governance.

Indicative modules

  1. Foundations of Generative AI
  2. Deep Learning and Neural Networks
  3. Prompt Engineering and Large Language Models
  4. Digital Transformation and Innovation Strategy
  5. AI Ethics, Governance and Risk
  6. Human–AI Interaction and Service Design
  7. Capstone Project or Dissertation (industry- or research-focused)

The structure is informed by international practice in generative AI and digital transformation Master’s provision, drawing on examples where programmes combine advanced AI topics with organisational strategy, change and implementation.

Graduates will be well placed for roles such as AI product lead, digital transformation consultant, innovation manager, or technical strategist in sectors undergoing rapid digital change.

MSc Data Analytics in Finance

This MSc equips students with quantitative, computational and analytical skills for financial decision-making. It is aimed at those who want to bridge finance and data science in areas such as risk management, investment analysis, trading and financial forecasting.

Indicative modules

  1. Financial Markets and Instruments
  2. Quantitative Methods for Finance
  3. Big Data and Data Engineering in Finance
  4. Machine Learning for Finance and Trading
  5. Financial Risk Analytics and Regulation
  6. FinTech Innovation and Digital Assets
  7. Programming for Financial Analytics (e.g. Python / R)
  8. Dissertation or Applied Analytics Project

The design is informed by modern financial data analytics programmes that integrate robust quantitative skills, exposure to financial platforms and hands-on use of analytics tools for trading, portfolio analysis and risk management.

Typical graduate destinations include quantitative analyst, risk or portfolio analyst, data-driven financial planning roles, and FinTech or banking technology positions.

MSc in Business Management with AI

This MSc blends core business management disciplines – including strategy, marketing, finance and operations – with applied AI, data analytics and intelligent systems. It is intended for students who want to lead AI-enabled change, design AI-informed products or services, or work at the interface of business and technology.

Indicative modules

  1. Business Strategy and Innovation
  2. AI Fundamentals for Managers
  3. Data Analytics and Visualisation for Decision-Making
